Students worked with internationally known Mexican ocumentary photographer to achieve a body of images along with text to express the issues that we are facing today. Students used photography as a means to document the current economic realities that we are facing today, such as home foreclosures, loss of jobs, businesses closing, cost increases in gasoline and food, etc.. This class engaged students in a positive and creative manner as to how to make a difference in society through theirreflective images and words for change.

Brian Prendergast Class of 2010 Major: IT Management Hometown: Washington, D. C.
I have spent the last few months documenting the haunting contemporary relics of the current economic crisis: Abandoned Spaces. I hope that these images can convey the feeling one would have when standing in front of them and remembering what they once were. This article contains some explanation of the places as well as a broad analysis on abandoned businesses, places, and homes in America.
